Our Mission

Ethnic Arts Institute is dedicated to providing public access to exceptional global dance, music and art programs. Our mission is accomplished through ongoing classes and workshops for adults, professional development for educators, integrated cultural arts-in-education programs for children and public performances and exhibitions.

Our History

Envisioned and instituted by Bishop Calvin Davis, Sr. inspired and developed by Bishop Leslie W. Edwards and founded by Lisa Saunders, Ethnic Arts was organized in furtherance of Pilgrims & Strangers Corporation, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. Since 1999, under the artistic direction of Ms. Saunders, the Institute has been making exciting adventures in multicultural and traditional arts possible for Bay Area communities. We understand the value of artistic traditions and cultural heritage and want to share this vision with future generations.
